Anjali Thottassery

Born and raised in Hoover to Indian immigrant parents, Anjali Thottassery embodies the multicultural and community oriented values of our firm. She graduated with honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning dual degrees in Political Science and World Languages & Literatures with a Spanish concentration. During her undergraduate career, Anjali served in a leadership role on the Executive Council of UAB’s Undergraduate Student Government Association.

Anjali’s lifelong passion for cultural exchange and international relations inspired both her Spanish studies and overseas living experiences. She maintains a particular academic interest in international human rights and political systems, knowledge that she now applies daily as an immigration legal assistant. Beginning as a spring 2023 ACL intern, she transitioned to full-time legal staff by spring 2024.

Anjali’s past experience at the Peace Corps assignment in Ecuador reflects her deep commitment to global service. At ACL, she collaborates closely with immigrants to build strong cases, combining her political expertise with firsthand knowledge of cultural transition challenges. Her rapid advancement from 2023 intern to full-time legal assistant demonstrates both her professional capability and authentic dedication to immigrant communities.
