Warehouse collision led to five surgeries and permanent physical restrictions.
BESSEMER, Ala., Oct. 13, 2026.
A jury in the Bessemer Division of the Jefferson County Circuit Court returned a $7 million verdict on Oct. 8 against Dollar General for a worker permanently injured in a collision with industrial equipment at the company’s distribution center.

The worker was dust mopping the approximately one million square foot Dollar General distribution center when a Dollar General employee reversed an electric pallet jack rolltainer carrier and struck her twice from behind. The collision severed her right Achilles tendon and injured the left heel and shoulder.
“Our client was doing their job when this happened. Five surgeries later, the consequences are still part of everyday life. The jury heard what this injury took away from our client and held Dollar General accountable,” said Nathan Harris, founder of Abogados Centro Legal.
According to the plaintiff’s trial team, the evidence examined the operator’s failure to look and maintain a clear path while reversing and failing to yield to a pedestrian. Dollar General’s operating rules were broken time and again.
